My TAN change request application submitted through online mode is marked for discrepancy. Which document is requied to submitted to clear discrepancy?

Proof of TAN (existing TAN . i.e. the one currently in use).

Proof of TAN(s) to be surrendered/cancelled, if any.

Applicant may submit the TAN allotment letter received from ITD as proof of TAN. In case the applicant does not have TAN allotment letter, he can submit a printout of his TAN details using TAN search facility provided at www.incometaxindia.gov.in or www.tin-nsdl.com

Relevant documentary proof to support request for correction/ change in TAN change request is to be forwarded to NSDL e-Gov along with TAN acknowledgment.

I have forwarded the required documents, however still my TAN application is not processed.

We will process your application upon receipt of the documents. If the documents are delivered, we request you to share Proof of Delivery of courier/post on by mentioning your Acknowledgement number.

What is the procedure for submission of document?

An application for allotment of TAN is to be filed in Form 49B and submitted to any TIN-FC. Addresses of TIN-FCs are available at NSDL-TIN website. Alternatively, you can apply for TAN online at the NSDL-TIN website.

Payment made against TAN application fees by DD/Cheque however same is showing as Pending.

Payment made against TAN application fees is subject to realization of Demand Draft (DD) or Cheque. You may contact on TIN Helpline number on (020)27218080 to confirm the details.

I haven't received my TAN allotment letter despatched by NSDL e-Gov via Post.

TAN application is still not forwarded to NSDL e-Gov by the TIN FC even after submitting required documents.

You may contact the TIN FC center where you have submitted the TAN application form along with required documents to know the reason for delay in processing.
